Simulator training for Gdynia Maritime School students
Students who began their education in September 2013 or earlier are required to complete a simulator refresher course before applying for admission to the watchkeeping officer examination at the Maritime Office.
The obligation to complete such a course results from changes to the framework training programmes and examination requirements at the operational and management level in the deck department in international navigation.
Refresher course programme
The course consists exclusively of simulator classes in the following subjects:
- Navigation safety — 2 hours
- ECDIS — 10 hours
- Ship manoeuvring — 5 hours
- Navigation — 10 hours
The course concludes with an examination. The certificate of completion of the simulator curriculum differences is only issued upon successful completion of the examination.
Important information
- The GSM completion certificate is only issued after passing the refresher course
- Training and examination are organised by the school at no additional cost (provided a group is formed)
- Students are asked to register at the office for simulator training
